Reba, or Reebsey, sometimes Reeberlah is the Matriarch of the clan, the absolute top dog amongst the Dirty Dozen canines at Rock HQ (we have several other types including Heinz rescue dogs) Reba was our second Berner, so taken with Rocky were we that we had to have another. In all honesty if Reba had been our first Berner we might have stuck with just one, never before in canine history has there been such an accident prone pup. Highlights included falling off the conservatory roof aged 8 weeks 1 day, falling in the pond 8wk +2, nearly hanging herself between the sofa and wall 8wk +3 and a big metal gate fell on her 8wk +5. A real baby, timid and shy we wondered how she would grow up. Well she is top dog, rules the Clan and the other dogs in a very good natured way but they know she is the boss. A totally committed mother she has raised two litters and thanks to her there are ten other Berner owners out there experiencing the wonderful world of Bernese Mountain Dogs.

    Rocky aka Rockstar, Rock Meister

    Rocky wins over everyone he meets, a fantastic example of a Bernese Mountain Dog, a big smiley bear he is the head of the Dolyhir Clan. His favourite trick is to sit and offer a high five with his massive paw, once he has your attention you can never stop stroking him, he won't let you! Loyal, fearless and totally adorable, Rocky is simply the best.
    Bliss, Blissey (sometimes called Boggit, but only if being called as a sibling group, as in "come on Boggits!") was the pick of the litter from Rocky and Reba's pups in 2009. She has a few peculiarities and an obsession that compels her to remove the collars off the other dogs. Time and time again we find the chewed remains of a new collar as she has felt the need to liberate her siblings from the leather strap. Bliss is maturing to be a wonderful dog, quite nervous when she first meets you but like the others loves fuss and is convinced she is a lap dog.
    Dotty, Dottywoo or most likely WooZah is the nutter of the clan. For some inexplicable reason she lost the fur from her tail as a pup and was the tiniest of Berners so we decided to keep her. Her fur is brownish black and usually muddy, or wet, or a combination of both as she has a fascination for ponds and water and loves to dive in. Her second favourite pastime is to sit on your lap, this is more fun if she has just got out of the pond!
    Spotty, Spot, the Big Lad and Oistopthatputitbacknow! is the biggest and bounciest of Berners who would give Tigger a run for his money when it comes to boundless energy. We said goodbye to him in June 2009 when he went to live with his new family. However by September he came back to us as his owners had to move to Dubai and couldn't take a Berner to the desert. For a few days this pampered pooch was a bit overwhelmed by Clan life but he found his paws and has turned into a wonderful dog with a passion for sticks. The bigger the better, often he is found running down the lane with half a tree in his jaws. No idea what he thinks he is going to do with it but it keeps him happy.
    Montana, Mont, but mostly Auntie Montana is a gorgeous Berner who used to come to us for her holidays and then one day decided to stay for a permanent vacation! She fits in really well, Reba loves having her around and like most Berners cannot get enough cuddles and prefers to sit on you rather than next to you.
